The start of the new year has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to start an exercise program. Honestly, there’s no better time than the present.
But, you ask, how do you maintain a routine? Here it is: Keep it simple!! There’s no need to join an expensive gym, buy fancy workout clothes, go to 4 different class pass facilities and pay a personal trainer 5 days a week (and this comes from the mouth of a personal trainer!). You just need to think of a goal, do a little research and come up with a plan that’s attainable for you, and JUST START.
Perhaps the first step is just to walk 15 minutes a day for a week. Bravo. Great goal. Now do it! Perhaps you want to swim a mile. Go get some good goggles and a suit and find some swim plans online. Maybe you want actual workout routines to follow and even be part of an online support group… I think that’s a great idea and I have something for you to consider along this line (listed in the link below).
Again, wherever you are, whatever your goal, you just have to take the first step and make sure that step is attainable so that you want to take the next one, and the next, and so on. If you want direction with cardio and strength routines, I have some online plans you might be interested in, including some short term plans before having to commit to a month or more. These were created with you in mind… someone who wants a little encouragement and some solid guidance for exercise, plus be part of an online support community. Check out the workouts listed on this page but note I update plans throughout the year to keep things fresh, so always check back for more: https://www.trainerize.me/profile/studio1on1/LauraGrace.Williams
But whatever route you choose… Just Start!
